Croft & Stern Jewelry 5-year Limited Warranty - Complimentary

The Croft & Stern Promise

We, at Croft & Stern Jewelry Designs, pledge to stand behind every piece of jewelry we create in the form of a manufacturer’s limited 5-year warranty. Valid for the first 5-years from date of purchase, you will receive the following complimentary warranty: 

Should any side diamond or gemstone, in normal use, crack, chip, or come out of its mounting and be lost, Croft & Stern will replace it with another diamond/gemstone of equal quality within the first 5 years from date of purchase. This warranty covers all earth-mined or lab-grown side diamonds and gemstones (0.01ct-0.25ct) purchased from Croft & Stern. Cleaning and jewelry check-ups are always complementary at our Maple Grove, MN studio. This service does not include polishing or rhodium plating. Metal polishing, and/or rhodium plating will be billed at 50% off the current repair price for the first 5 years - after which, full repair price is charged for these services.

This warranty does not cover pearls, non-diamond gemstones, pre-owned, antique/estate jewelry, customer owned diamonds/gemstones, one-of-a-kind (OFK) gemstones, or the center diamond/gemstone whether purchased through Croft & Stern Jewelry Designs or owned by the customer. 

We pledge to perform a complimentary first ring sizing on all new rings, both ready-to-wear or custom order, within 6-months from date of purchase (this excludes pre-owned, antique/estate). Ring sizing will only be considered for complimentary service for the finger in which the ring was originally made, and within 1 size up or down of the original size ordered (if custom order). Ring sizing outside of these perimeters will be charged at 50% off current retail-repair price. Soldering rings together, and supplementary sizing assistants (speed bumps) are charged at a 50% off current retail-repair price for Croft & Stern made/supplied jewelry. Due to their nature, chains are not covered under this warranty. While we recommend that you come in every 6-12 months for a free inspection, not doing so will in no way affect the limited warranty. Ring sizing and sizing assistants are 50% off current repair price for the first 5 years - after which, full repair price is charged for these services.

This warranty will be invalidated if the article of jewelry is worked on by any jeweler other than a Croft & Stern jeweler. Additionally this warranty does not cover any jewelry created using customer supplied gold. This warranty is not transferable. This warranty does not apply to nor cover: estate jewelry, non-precious metal jewelry, permanent jewelry, significant wear and tear of jewelry item, half or full shank replacements, loss, abuse, or theft of the diamond, gemstone and/or mounting. It is in your own best interest to purchase a care plan and insure your jewelry item for casualty loss and abuse. We strongly urge you to add your jewelry items to a jewelry specific or renter’s/homeowner’s insurance policy to cover yourself in the event of such loss or abuse.

Estate Jewelry:

We perform a multi-point quality control inspection on every piece of estate jewelry sold at Croft & Stern Jewelry Designs. We carefully inspect each item for defects, damage or loose gemstones. By nature, Estate Jewelry is considered preowned and is expected to have patina, and light to moderate wear and tear. Estate jewelry is sold as-is.

For the first six-months after purchase we offer complementary:

-Gem tightening not requiring prong work

-Broken shank if broken at sizing seam

-First polish. Many collectors prefer the historical nature of jewelry with "patina/antiquing". For this reason, we do not refinish our estate items unless by request upon purchase. We will cover the first polish for yellow/rose gold items, and platinum, with the addition of rhodium plating for white gold. 

We are happy to help with your repair needs after six months, or if the repair is not covered by the list above. Repair and/or shipping fees will apply.

Mark Michael Diamond Designs Legacy Jewelry:

Croft & Stern Jewelry Designs is a legacy bridge for Mark Michael Diamond Designs. The “Mark Michael Diamond Designs” warranty will apply to wedding bands/engagement rings, in wearable and good condition, sold at Mark Michael Diamond Designs from January 1, 2013 to May 1, 2023 supplied by the following vendors: "Mark Michael Diamond Designs", "Parade Designs", or "Unique Settings". Additionally, we will cover Mark Michael Diamond Designs created original jewelry purchased from January 1, 2013 to April 1, 2023. This warranty will not cover watches, chains, or jewelry items with significant wear. Warranty coverage will be to the discretion of the Croft & Stern Team. We will offer appraisal updates for Mark Michael jewelry at a fee per item.
